Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth at Thanesar, Kurukshetra, is identified by Haryana Tourism as a Shakti Peeth where the anklet of Sati is remembered. Traditional 51 Peeth lists also identify Kurukshetra with the right ankle, Devi Savitri, and Bhairava Sthanu. The Peeth is associated with the Mahabharata tradition of Krishna, Arjuna, and the Pandavas worshipping Devi before and after the Kurukshetra war.

Bhadrakali Temple is a Hindu sacred place in Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra, Haryana, connected with Goddess Bhadrakali. As a Shakti Peeth, the shrine is approached through the living Shakta tradition of Devi worship, local goddess identity, Bhairava association, and festival-centered pilgrimage.
According to the Daksha Yajna legend, the right ankle of Goddess Sati fell here. Before the Mahabharata war began, Lord Krishna and the Pandavas worshipped Goddess Bhadrakali here, and upon winning the war, they offered their horses to the Goddess in gratitude.
Major observances connected with this profile include Navaratri (March/April & Sept/Oct), Vasant Panchami (January–February). During these periods, devotees should expect heavier crowds, longer queues, and a stronger emphasis on aarti, utsav, and local temple customs.
A useful visit plan begins with the darshan window, then works backward through route, footwear and bag rules, offering guidelines, queue options, and local transport from Kurukshetra. For older shrines and high-crowd temples, early morning and non-festival weekdays usually give devotees more time for quiet prayer.
For devotional preparation, visitors can keep the practice simple: learn the main deity's name, carry only permitted offerings, observe modest dress, and close the visit with a short mantra, pradakshina, or dana where appropriate. This keeps temple travel connected to sadhana rather than only sightseeing.
Confirm current darshan timings, entry rules, and seva availability before visiting.
