The Japa Mālā is a string of beads used to count mantra repetitions in Hindu sadhana. The traditional length is 108, but shorter rounds — 27, 54 — and longer ones like 1008 are also common. The guru bead (Sumeru) marks the start and end of each māla and is never crossed.
Tap each bead as you recite, or enable Voice Japa to count hands-free — every audible utterance advances one bead, so you can keep the mālā in your hands.
Voice japa needs microphone access — not available in this browser.
