श्री सीता रामचंद्र स्वामी मंदिर, भद्राचलम
Bhadrachalam is considered the 'Ayodhya of the South'. It is the most prominent Rama temple in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, beautifully situated on the banks of the Godavari River.
Mythology
The temple is closely associated with the Ramayana. Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana are believed to have stayed in the surrounding Dandakaranya forest during their exile. The temple was constructed in the 17th century by Kancharla Gopanna, popularly known as Bhakta Ramadasu, who was a great devotee of Rama and composed numerous famous Kirtanas here.
