Recited before eating. The act of eating is offered as a yajna (sacrifice) to Brahman. Transforms eating into a spiritual act.
ब्रह्मार्पणम् (भोजन से पहले)
When to recite: Before every meal
Brahmarpanam is a Bhagavad Gita meal prayer traditionally recited before eating. It transforms food from personal consumption into an offering, remembering Brahman as the offering, the fire, the act, and the receiver.
The shloka is especially common in homes, ashrams, and satsang settings where meals are treated as prasad and eating as a sacred responsibility.
The verse teaches that the whole act of offering is Brahman. Food, the one who eats, the digestive fire, and the purpose of nourishment are all connected to the divine.
