Karagre Vasate Lakshmi is a morning shloka recited while looking at one's hands after waking. It remembers Lakshmi at the fingertips, Saraswati in the palm, and Govinda or Brahma at the base of the hand.
The practice turns the first moment of the day toward gratitude, right action, learning, and divine remembrance before ordinary work begins.
The shloka teaches that prosperity, knowledge, and divine support are present in the hands through which we act. Seeing the hands becomes a reminder to use the day for dharmic effort.
