Tiruppavai is the thirty-verse Tamil devotional work of Andal, one of the Alvars of Sri Vaishnavism. It is sung daily during Margazhi or Margashirsha month, especially in temples and Sri Vaishnava homes.
The verses present Andal and the gopis waking one another for vrata, bathing, singing, and seeking the grace of Narayana through loving surrender.
Tiruppavai teaches collective devotion, vrata discipline, longing for Krishna-Narayana, and sharanagati. Its language moves between village devotional imagery and deep Sri Vaishnava theology.

मार्गशीर्ष माह की पूर्ण चंद्र के शुभ दिन, स्नान करने चलो, आओ, हे सुंदर आभूषणों वाली! समृद्ध गोकुल की सम्पन्न बालिकाओं, तीखे भाले वाले नन्द गोप के पुत्र, सुंदर नेत्रों वाली यशोदा के युवा सिंह, श्याम तन वाले, लाल नेत्र, सूर्य-चंद्र सम मुख, नारायण ही हमें पुरस्कार देंगे — संसार की प्रशंसा पाते हुए यही हमारी प्रार्थना है।
