English Translation
Shloka:
I bow to Rama — the peaceful, eternal, immeasurable, sinless, giver of Nirvana-peace, served constantly by Brahma, Shambhu and the king of serpents, knowable through Vedanta, all-pervading, the lord of the universe called Rama, teacher of the gods, Hari who appeared as a human through Maya, the compassionate one, the best of Raghus, the crown jewel of kings.
O Raghupati, I speak the truth — there is no other desire in my heart; you are the inner soul of all. Bestow on me unwavering devotion, O best of Raghus, and make my mind free from faults like desire.
Doha (opening):
Jambavan's pleasing words, hearing them, Hanuman's heart was greatly pleased.
'So long as I am searching, O brothers — endure the suffering, eating roots and fruits.'
