सुंदरकांड
When to recite: Tuesday, Saturday, Hanuman Jayanti, during difficulties, full moon
Sunderkand is the fifth kand of Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas and one of the most beloved recitations in Hindu homes. It narrates Hanuman's leap to Lanka, meeting with Sita, burning of Lanka, and return with Rama's message.
Devotees especially read Sunderkand on Tuesdays, Saturdays, Hanuman Jayanti, and during difficult periods because it centers courage, devotion, intelligence, and unwavering service to Rama.
The path shows Hanuman as the ideal sevak: strong yet humble, fearless yet disciplined, and fully anchored in Rama nama. Sita's faith and Hanuman's service become the emotional core of the reading.
