Often called the 'Tirupati of Telangana', it is the most popular Hindu temple in the state. The temple has recently undergone a massive ₹1,800 crore renovation by the Telangana Government, transforming it into a magnificent modern-day architectural marvel.
Mythology
In the Tretayuga, sage Yadarishi (son of the great sage Rishyasringa) performed severe penance inside a cave on this hill. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Narasimha appeared before him in five different forms (Jwala, Yogananda, Gandabherunda, Ugra, and Lakshminarasimha). All these five forms are self-manifested in the main cave sanctum.
