श्रीकालहस्ती मंदिर
It is one of the Pancha Bhoota Stalam representing the element of Air (Vayu Lingam). It is also considered the 'Kashi of the South'. The temple is extremely famous as the premier center in India for performing Rahu-Ketu Sarpa Dosha Nivarana pujas.
Mythology
The name Srikalahasti comes from a Spider (Sri), a Snake (Kala), and an Elephant (Hasti), who all worshipped Lord Shiva here and attained salvation. It is also the place where the great devotee Kannappa offered his own eyes to Lord Shiva to stop blood flowing from the Linga.
